Galeffi - Monolocale (Italy) by Daniel Bedusa
Gene di Napoli is a former actor who, during the 70's, always played the same role: a shady gangster in a chenille tank top, who died in the first round-up. He currently runs a concert venue in the Bronx and is the wanna-be manager of a handful of so-called artists. Gene is a charismatic nostalgic bragger, "bigger than life" as America wants them, capable of constantly reinventing himself. This music video takes a glance at Gene's life, between dusty memorabilia, photos with Joe Pesci and Martin Scorsese, and a nowhere to be seen love of a lifetime: Paulette.
Heaven's Meadow (Austria) by Magdalena Chmielewska
It is night in Heaven’s Meadow, on the outskirts of Vienna. Injured and barefoot, Maya runs back home, to the city center. Next day she reports the incident of the prior evening. She undergoes a check-up and files an official statement: assaulted by several perpetrators, no traces of semen, but internal injuries. Rather than falling apart, Maya takes off to Italy to see Daniel. There, she hopes to forget. She wants to regain control of her life. But instead, she keeps floating through the world like an unanchored island.

Between teasing and good-natured play, who will still be at the table to hear the twelve strokes of midnight?
